The Local Food Community Fund will support local businesses as they lead the way towards building a truly sustainable food system in Bury St Edmunds.

Monthly Supper Clubs

The LFCF will be launched at the April Supper Club with the monthly meals, at St John’s Centre on the 1st Saturday of each month, initially being the main platform to raise money for the fund.

The meals will be for donations with a small fee paid to reserve your seat.

The idea of pay-what-you-can is inspired by my time working and living in Nepal at Kar.ma Coffee – where the coffee is by donation into the famous ‘Karma Chicken’

The Fund

The launch of the fund will support four community businesses and charities.

Allison’s Eatery – to help support the opening of a Vegan Restaurant in Bury St Edmunds on the Howard Estate.

Best Before Project – to support them reduce food waste in Bury St Edmunds

Happy Food Farm – to support the creation of a local organic market garden

Samu Kitchen – to support the development of a local, seasonal and wholefood plantbased catering business

The Launch Event

Join us on Saturday 6th April for the launch of the fund at St John’s Centre.

To celebrate the link to Karma Coffee in Nepal, the evening will be a delights of Nepali dishes from Momo’s to Thali.

The tickets are £4 ( to reserve your seat) to cover the cost of the hall and to go towards ingredients.

The food will be for donation with all the money going to the Local Food Community Fund
